Alex is an experienced commercial litigator, whose practice is focused on commercial leasing litigation; defence of lawyers’ errors and omissions claims, particularly in the areas of commercial leasing and franchise transactions; and other business and real estate disputes. She is preferred counsel with LawPro, and is consulted for her expertise in both defence and rectification of errors and omission claims.

Alex leads the commercial leasing litigation team at BYLD. She has a thorough knowledge and understanding of the law relating to commercial leasing disputes and provides advice and representation to her landlord clients on wide range of legal issues.

Alex has spoken about and written articles in the area of commercial lease disputes, and related topics, for The Canadian Institute; the National Creditor Debtor Review; the Six Minute Commercial Leasing Lawyer; and the International Council of Shopping Centres Law Conference. She is also a regular contributor to Debtor/Creditor Canadian Forms & Precedents (Commercial Landlords' Remedies).

Alex is an accomplished advocate both in and out of Court. Alex has extensive experience before all levels of Ontario Courts; Human Rights Tribunal; and Alternative Dispute Resolution, including arbitration and mediation.

Commercial litigation, with an emphasis on commercial leasing litigation, lease default remedies and enforcement, interpretation of various lease clauses, CCAA and bankruptcy proceedings, all other disputes concerning commercial leases, particularly in retail and office industries, and the defense of professional negligence claims.
